Suspected Mistreatment of Animals on Campus

Anyone concerned with an animal's welfare or aware of non-compliance with the policies, rules, regulations, and laws regarding animal care and use for research and teaching on the University of Illinois Urbana campus, should contact a member of the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee, a program veterinarian (Division of Animal Resources or Agricultural Animal Care and Use Program) or the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation

Federal law and University policy prohibits discrimination against or reprisals for U of I student and employee whistleblowers. Reports may be made anonymously.

Reporting an incident of suspected non-compliance or mistreatment of animals will initiate an investigation. Findings and recommendations are reported to the Institutional Official.
