The C3.ai Digital Transformation Institute is a research consortium dedicated to accelerating the benefits of artificial intelligence for business, government, and society. The institute engages the world’s leading scientists to conduct research and train practitioners in the new Science of Digital Transformation, which operates at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, internet of things, big data analytics, organizational behavior, public policy, and ethics.
C3.ai DTI is jointly managed and hosted by the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with two physical headquarters on the campuses of UC Berkeley and UIUC. Additional academic partners include Carnegie Mellon University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago.
The C3.ai DTI was established with $367 million in support from C3 AI and Microsoft in the form of direct funding, Microsoft Azure credits, and unlimited use of the C3 AI Suite. Additional industry partners contribute $100,000 per year to support C3.ai DTI operations and research, curriculum development, and education programs.
