UIUC researchers have made a breakthrough in environmentally friendly chemical production. The CABBI-based team “created a cost-effective, end-to-end pipeline” for succinic acid, a widely used industrial chemical, by “engineering a tough, acid-tolerant yeast as the fermenting agent.”
