An intensive three-year crop rotation can reduce nitrogen runoff by 50 percent

A nine-year partnership between a NRES researcher and a local landowner and grower has shown that an intensive three-year crop rotation—compared to a typical, two-year rotation—can reduce nitrogen runoff by 50 percent without compromising yield.
