The AUIP PhD Program, leading to a PhD degree conferred by Illinois, is a four-year scholarship funded by A*STAR comprising two years of PhD studies at Illinois, and two years at a relevant A*STAR Research Institute (RI) in Singapore. PhD research training will be carried out under the supervision of an Illinois Professor and a senior member of an A*STAR Research Institute.
Joint Graduate Programs between the Departments of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Illinois and National University of Singapore.
EBI represents a collaboration between the University of California, Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and BP, which will support the Institute with a 10-year $500 million grant. EBI's multidisciplinary teams will collectively explore total-system approaches to problems that include the sustainable production of cellulosic biofuels, enhanced biological carbon sequestration, bioprocessing of fossil fuels and biologically-enhanced petroleum recovery.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Tsinghua University offer a new joint bachelor/master of science program that integrates study and work experience in China and the United States. Students who complete the joint program will receive a bachelor of science degree from Tsinghua and a master of science degree from Illinois. The target enrollment for each academic year is 15 students studying in the following fields: chemical engineering, biomolecular engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, bioengineering (agriculture), accounting, and human resources management.
